Summer Sojourn: Sipping and Savoring at Barboursville Vineyards

You are invited to join the Bailliage of Greater Washington, DC on our annual Summer Sojourn to Barboursville Vineyards in the beautiful rolling hills of central Virginia. Winemaker Luca Paschina will welcome us on the patio overlooking the vineyards (or in the arcades if it’s raining) for a tasting of four wines accompanied by assaggini from Chef Spencer Crawford. We will then enjoy a seated five-course seasonal luncheon in the estate’s Palladio Restaurant, with each course paired with a Barboursville wine. Additionally, you may decide to attend a performance that evening of Shakespeare’s As You Like It by the local Four County Players in the ruins of the original Barbour mansion on the grounds of the vineyard. For those who wish to spend the night, there are a few luxurious rooms still available at the inn and cottages on the Barboursville estate, and there are hotels withing 15 miles of the vineyard. Contact Barboursville or the hotel of your choice directly to make lodging reservations.
If there is sufficient interest, we can arrange for round trip transportation between Barboursville and the Washington area.
