See More RegisterJoin the Bailliage of Greater Washington, D.C. for an exclusive farm-to-table dinner at Alias Restaurant, nestled in Vint Hill, just outside of Warrenton, VA. This acclaimed fine-dining destination has earned rave reviews, with Washington Post critic Tom Sietsema highlighting it as a “sublime [culinary] entertainment” experience. He compares its caliber to renowned Northern Virginia culinary gems like The Inn at Little Washington and The Restaurant at Patowmack Farm.
We’ve secured the entire restaurant for our private event on a Sunday evening this September, ensuring we fully experience the bounty of the harvest season. At 6:30 PM, our dining adventure begins with a champagne reception and passed hors d’oeuvres, followed by an exceptional multi-course dinner with paired wine. The talented chef and his attentive team provide a warm and hospitable experience, with a menu that evolves every few weeks to feature the freshest seasonal ingredients.
Located just an hour from Washington, D.C., Alias is easily accessible. We’ve chosen Sunday to avoid weekday rush-hour traffic, with I-66 express lanes making the drive comparable to a typical suburban commute into the city. This is a truly special culinary experience not to be missed! With only 30 seats available, we encourage you to register promptly to secure your spot.

Una Sera a Napoli: An Evening at Mamma Lena’s
Sunday, October 12, 2025
See MorePlease join the Bailliage of Greater Washington for a genuine Italian dinner at Mamma Lena’s, a hidden gem that has recently captured the attention and acclaim it so richly deserves.
Frequented by staff from the Italian Embassy, Mamma Lena’s has been described as one of the most authentic Italian restaurants they have ever experienced—and they should know! This praise is a direct result of the family at the helm: Mamma Lena Borello, who cooked in Italy for years, shops for the freshest ingredients daily, supported by owner Giovanni Varriale, Carmine Varriale and patriarch, Carlo Varriale. Their connection to the embassy is a personal one, as Carlo worked there well before the family opened the restaurant in 2015.
Though located in a modest Germantown shopping center, the experience is anything but. As Washington Post food critic Tom Sietsema wrote, you go to Mamma Lena for “Italian family-style cooking, warmth and comfort.” The vibrant, 24-seat restaurant will be ours exclusively for the evening, allowing us to fully savor the perfectly cooked Neapolitan cuisine and warm atmosphere.
By the end of the night, you will feel that you’ve stumbled into a quintessential, beloved neighborhood restaurant in Naples—no passport required!
Reception begins at 5:00 p.m.
